EventEquipmentForSale.co.za (“we”, “us”, “our”, “the Company”) respects your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share and protect your personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”).

We collect personal information when you (a) submit a quote-request form, (b) call or email us, (c) browse our website. This includes:

  • Full name, business name, role
  • Email address and phone number
  • Province / delivery suburb
  • Equipment requirements and budget indicators
  • Technical data (IP address, browser type, device, referring URL, pages visited) via cookies

4. Lawful Basis & Purpose (POPIA Sec. 11)

We process your personal information lawfully where:

  • You have consented (e.g. submitted the quote form)
  • Processing is necessary to conclude or perform a contract with you
  • We have a legitimate interest (e.g. fraud prevention, business operations) that does not override your rights

Specific purposes: respond to quote requests; supply, deliver and service equipment; invoicing & accounting; warranty administration; marketing communications you have opted into.

We share data only with: (a) manufacturers fulfilling your order, (b) logistics partners delivering equipment, (c) accounting/payment providers, (d) our hosting and analytics processors. All processors are bound by written agreements requiring POPIA-equivalent safeguards.

We do not sell your personal information.

Some processors (e.g. Google Analytics) store data outside South Africa. We rely on processors offering adequate protection under POPIA Sec. 72.

We retain quote records for 7 years (SARS / Companies Act). Cookie & analytics data: 26 months. You can request earlier deletion (see section 9).

8. Security

We use HTTPS encryption, restricted-access cloud storage, regular backups and staff confidentiality undertakings. In the unlikely event of a breach, we will notify both you and the Information Regulator as required by POPIA Sec. 22.

You have the right to:

  1. Be notified when we collect your data (this notice)
  2. Access the personal information we hold (POPIA Sec. 23)
  3. Correct or delete inaccurate information (Sec. 24)
  4. Object to processing (Sec. 11(3))
  5. Withdraw consent at any time
  6. Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator at [email protected]
